Application Process
When the Planning Office receives your application you will receive letters to confirm this and to advise you whether it is valid and whether further information is required. If the proposal is unacceptable but amendments could be made to overcome its deficiencies, negotiations will normally be sought.
Around 90% of planning applications are delegated to the officers for decision. If there are more than 5 representations which are contrary to the professional view or, at the request of a Member identifying planning reasons then the application will be referred to the Planning Committee.
Public speaking has been running successfully at Planning Committee for some time and would apply in such cases.
