Collective energy switch scheme

Following the success of the last round in November 2024, Dover district residents are being encouraged to sign up to the current collective energy saving scheme to see if they can save money on their energy bills.

Working in collaboration with DDC, Big Community Switch, run by iChoosr, helps residents save money on their energy bills by using combined buying power to access highly competitive tariffs. The scheme empowers residents by providing guidance and support to simplify the energy-switching process.

More than 35,000 UK households have registered interest in the collective energy switching scheme to date. Residents can register for this round, without obligation, by Friday 11 April 2025.

Despite an uncertain energy market, participating residents in the district can benefit from an exclusive energy tariff and save an average of £237 on annual energy bills (based on dual fuel customers who subscribe to online billing, pay monthly by direct debit, and have already registered). Plus, the tariff offers 100% renewable electricity, underscoring the Council’s commitment to sustainability.

Registering to be part of Big Community Switch can lead to potential savings on your annual bill. However, the amount saved depends on various factors such as your current tariff, payment method, usage, and the winning bid. You can find a transparent breakdown of these savings in the personal offers that are sent to everyone who has registered.

For further details on the scheme and how to access this exclusive deal, please visit the DDC website. Dover district residents without internet access can contact 01304 872332 to register. You will need to have your latest energy bill to hand, as you’ll need the details during the registration process.
