A warm welcome is being prepared as Dover District Council teams up with partners to support local communities as part of a Winter Well Roadshow coming to Deal, Dover and Sandwich.

To help keep residents warm and well this winter, three drop-ins have been organised in Dover, Deal and Sandwich with an expert team offering free workshops, giveaways, support and advice around health and cost of living.

Residents can drop-in anytime between 10am and 2pm on the following days:

  • Landmark Centre, Deal on Saturday 30 November
  • Dover Riverside Centre, Dover on Sunday 8 December
  • Jubilee Centre, Sandwich on Tuesday 10 December.

DDC, the NHS and other community providers are joining together to deliver these East Kent Health and Care Partnership events, to help support residents who can benefit from:

  • Cost of living support
  • Cooking on a budget workshops
  • Pre-loved coats
  • Expert advice about getting the care they need
  • Adult COVID and flu vaccinations for those that are eligible
  • Advice about how to beat the winter blues and stay connected to others.

Funding of £5,000 was provided from the Kent Police & Crime Commissioner to deliver this roadshow.

Cllr Charlotte Zosseder, Cabinet Member for Community, said: “We are very pleased to be supporting these events helping our communities stay well this winter. Our thanks go to all who have donated coats to help those who need them. If you’re struggling with the cost of living and need advice, let us help you - come along and chat to one of the team.”
