Funding & Running Your Local Voluntary or Community Group - Find out More at Free Event

Calling local community and voluntary groups - Dover District Council is inviting people to come along to a free event at St Radigunds Community Centre on Thursday 15 June, 5pm-7pm, to find out more about funding and help to set up/run a group.

Members of local voluntary/community groups are invited to come along to find out more and can book a slot with a chosen funder to discuss their project and ask any questions they may have.

The event will include representatives from Funding For All with information on bid and grant application writing, The National Lottery Community Fund with information on funding for community organisations, as well the Community Services team at DDC with advice on community grants and fundraising opportunities.

There will also be members of the Community Services team and a local solicitor on hand to help with general governance advice to groups that are already existing and have questions, or new groups that need to know where to start.

Twenty minute slots are available to book with the funder of your choice, or for governance advice, book your ticket and arrive between 5pm and 7pm and a member of the team will be able to help.

Cllr Charlotte Zosseder, DDC Cabinet Member for Community, said: “We are delighted to be able to host this event to help and support our local community groups and organisations. These local groups are vital for our communities, and we are very pleased to be able to help them find governance and funding solutions.”
