Existing Tides Leisure Centre in Deal
Dover District Council (DDC) is hosting a series of events in Deal to share early design concept proposals and invite further feedback on the plans for a new leisure centre in Deal.
DDC is holding four drop-in sessions between 20 September to 9 October with members of the project team. Consultant project team members will attend the Landmark Centre in Deal on Tuesday, 20 September, and this will be followed by a series of drop-in sessions at Tides Leisure Centre, attended by Council project team members.
At these informal meetings, residents can see the emerging proposals and talk through the proposed development.
Consultation boards will be exhibited at Tides Leisure Centre throughout the consultation period and will be available to view online at www.dover.gov.uk/dealleisurecentre There will also be a short online survey available to complete.
Cllr Oliver Richardson, DDC’s Portfolio Holder for Community and Corporate Property, said: “We have conducted a comprehensive feasibility study regarding the future of Tides Leisure Centre, and the team were pleased to receive over 650 responses to our short engagement survey last month.
“We’ve taken these comments into account when developing early concept designs for how a proposed new leisure centre could look. We welcome anyone interested in the new centre to pop in and chat through plans with the team at this early stage of development.”
