New Dover bar opens thanks to DDC business grant
A new bar, Rhino & Bull’s on King Street in Dover, is the latest business to open thanks to a £10,000 Town Centre Business Grant from Dover District Council.
Cllr Trevor Bartlett, Leader of Dover District Council, said: “We’re delighted to see another landmark town centre building brought back into use by a local, independent business and wish the team well with their new venture.
“It’s particularly encouraging to see strong demand for new food and beverage outlets which play a key role in bringing people back into the town centre and supporting the night time economy.”
Owner, Carl Ambrose, said: “It’s a fabulous old building and thanks to the grant from DDC we’ve worked hard to create something special with the interior which provides a warm welcome whether you’re looking for a morning coffee or an evening cocktail.”
Dover District Council’s Town Centre Business Grants of up to £10,000 are helping to revive high streets across the district, providing financial support to help local businesses bring empty commercial properties back into use.
To date, DDC has provided over £110,000 in funding to support 21 town centre businesses in Dover, Deal and Sandwich. To find out more about the Town Centre Business Grants scheme, visit www.dover.gov.uk/business
