To mark the start of Armed Forces Week, flag raising ceremonies are being organised around the country to raise the Armed Forces Day flag on Monday 24 June – including a ceremony outside Dover Town Council offices on Biggin Street, Dover from 10.15am.
The event, which is being organised by the Chairman of Dover District Council, will include speeches from the Chairman, Cllr Mike Conolly, and the Right Worshipful the Town Mayor of Dover, Cllr Gordon Cowan.
This is one of many events being held across the country to mark the lead up to national Armed Forces Day on Saturday 29 June. The day is an annual opportunity for the nation to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community.
