Beach Management Works In Kingsdown

As part of ongoing work to maintain sea defences, beach management works are set to take place in Kingsdown from Monday (3 June) for four weeks. 

Trucks and excavators will be used to recycle shingle between Oldstairs Bay and Kingsdown.  This is part of our work to manage the coast between Oldstairs Bay and Sandwich Bay, funded by a £1.5m grant from the Environment Agency. 

The works will be managed by council engineers working as part of the East Kent Engineering Partnership. Works are needed following the natural processes of the shingle being moved by the tide and the effects of the weather.
