Dover District Council Acquires Former Co-op Site in Dover
Dover District Council has acquired the former Co-op site at Stembrook in Dover as part of its town centre regeneration and property investment plans.
Along with the proposed plans for residential and retail development of the former nightclub/cinema site in Castle Street, the redevelopment of the former Co-op site provides further opportunities and connections to and from the Old Town through to the £53m St James leisure and retail development. It also provides opportunities to enhance the Riverside walk and connections through to Pencester Gardens and the bus terminus.
Cllr Keith Morris, Leader of Dover District Council, said: “This is a great opportunity to build on the exciting regeneration that is now taking place in Dover. We will continue to look for opportunities to invest in property for redevelopment to support the town centre. We look forward to bringing forward detailed plans for the site.”
