An art gallery has been given a new splash of colour to help the bigger picture of regeneration across the district – the Joanne Harmer Gallery in Deal is the latest business to receive a grant from DDC’s Town Centre Business Grant Scheme.
The gallery on Deal High Street has been awarded a grant of £1,000 from Dover District Council. The grant was for a frontage refurbishment, which includes external repairs, repainting and redecoration.
Cllr Mike Conolly, DDC Cabinet Member for Corporate Resources and Performance, said: “We are delighted to have awarded a grant to Joanne Harmer’s Gallery. This is the second grant made under the new scheme, and we would encourage anyone eligible to apply. This is a great example of how our Business Grant Scheme can help to support local business and continue to regenerate our town centres.”
DDC’s new grant scheme offers grants of up to £10,000 to bring commercial properties back into use, or to upgrade or improve the appearance of commercial properties in designated town centre areas in Dover, Deal and Sandwich. For more information, please see www.dover.gov.uk/businessgrants
