3. The number of taxi licences granted to drivers with previous criminal convictions?

4. The number of PHV licenses granted to drivers with previous criminal convictions?

5. In the cases of those with convictions in relation to question 3 and question 4 can you please tell me:

a. The nature of the conviction.

b. Whether said driver's conviction was known at the time of the licence being approved?

c. In each case, what is the current licence status of the driver.

6. How many have had their licenses removed due to the previous criminal conviction?

I can confirm that the Council holds information falling within the description specified in your request, however it is not readily available and from our preliminary assessment, we have estimated that the cost of complying with your request would exceed the ‘appropriate limit’ as a check of all 399 records would need to be undertaken.   The appropriate limit has been specified in regulations and for Local Government it is set at £450. This represents the estimated cost of one person spending 2½ working days in determining whether the information is held, locating, retrieving and extracting the data. I regret therefore, that on this occasion I must refuse this part of your request in accordance with Section 12(1) of the Freedom of Information Act.
