Request

  1. There is not a "lift" at the Roman Painted House as structurally difficult to instal.  Are the Council intending to instal a lift and if so is it decided how it will be done?  If a lift difficult to instal would as a compromise a "stairlift" be considered for the two sets of steps in the building?
  2. There is an ancient skeleton in a glass case under the stairs which has always been displayed.  It is at present covered up.  Why is it no longer on display and does the Council intend to display it again?  If it is not to be displayed again what is the reason?

Response

  1. The Council is not intending to install a lift or stairlift to the current building as it exists but in exploring its future use will fully consider accessibility.
  2. The skeleton is not currently on display as it requires considerable conservation work before it can be displayed.  The Council intends to display it again after conservation, if possible.
