Response
- Zero (0) physical examination have been carried out on imports of POAO from 1 May – 30 September 2024 as there is no BCP approved for POAO at the Port of Dover. POAO imports arriving via Dover Port are required to be notified to Ashford Borough Council who provide a port health service at the inland BCP at Sevington. For the total number of physical examinations on POAO imports arriving via the Port of Dover, this information is held by Ashford Borough Council and which can be accessed through the notifications submitted via import of products, animals, food and feed system (IPAFFS). Thirty-three (33) physical examinations of HRFNAO have been carried out at the Port of Dover from 1 May - 30 September 2024. Some HRFNAO imports arriving via Dover may have been notified to Ashford Borough Council via IPAFFS who will have access to these notifications.
- Zero (0) documentary checks have been carried out by Dover Port Health Authority (PHA) at the Port of Dover on POAO from a) Europe and b) Rest-of-World as there is no approved POAO BCP at the Port of Dover for these products. POAO imports arriving via Dover Port are required to be notified to Ashford Borough Council who provide a port health service at the inland BCP at Sevington. Documentary checks on POAO imports are notified to Sevington BCP and are undertaken by Ashford Borough Council who hold this information, and which can be accessed through the notifications submitted via IPAFFS.
- (a) There are currently no HRFNAO products from Europe, therefore zero (0) documentary checks have been undertaken on these imports arriving at the Port of Dover during this period. (b) Five hundred and ninety (590) documentary checks were undertaken on Rest-of-World HRFNAO consignments at the Port of Dover from 1 May 2024 to 30 September 2024.
- If by ‘pre-cleared’, the FOI request is referring to ‘auto cleared’ CHEDs (i.e. those CHEDS which have been subject to TODCOF) then for POAO imports from the EU and Rest-of-World arriving at the Port of Dover, there is no approved BCP for POAO at the Port of Dover. POAO imports arriving via the Port of Dover are required to be notified to Ashford Borough Council who provide a port health service at the inland BCP at Sevington and who hold this information which can be accessed through the notifications submitted via IPAFFS. For HRFNAO imports from the EU - there are currently no HRFNAO products originating from Europe and therefore none (0) have been ‘pre-cleared’. For HRFNAO imports from the Rest-of-World – zero (0) CHEDs notified to Dover Port Health Authority were ‘pre-cleared’ at the Port of Dover. Some HRFNAO imports arriving via Dover may have been notified to Ashford Borough Council via IPAFFS who will have access to these notifications.
