Request

  1. The number of complaints received for dog fouling in the last year (September 2023 - August 2024)
  2. The number of fixed penalty notices issued for dog fouling / dog littering during the same period
  3. The value in £ of those fines outlined in point 2
  4. Specific locations of those FPNs outlined in point 2 [if possible] - by postcode or similar

Response

  1. Between the 1st of September 2023 and the 31st of July 2024 our Environmental Crime Team received 138 dog fouling service requests
  2. Two Fixed Penalty Notices were served in circumstances where authorised officers of the council have witnessed dog faeces had not been removed forthwith by their owner’s contrary to our Public Spaces Protection Order and there was sufficient evidence to prosecute should the penalty not be paid.
  3. Our fixed penalty notice for failing to comply with our Public Spaces Protection Order is set at £100 reduced to £75 if paid within 10 days.
