Request

  1. In 2008 it was arranged for a flagpole to be installed.  It is now in a sad neglected state.  How often is the flagpole inspected?
  2. It is in a dirty state so when will the pole be lowered and cleaned to remove the dirt so the pole can be properly seen (fibre glass/white)?
  3. Cleaning the pole can easily be done so will this done “in-house”?  It just needs undoing and lowered to lay flat.  It took an hour to do five years ago.  Are there any problems preventing this being done now?

Response

  1. The flagpole is monitored by on site staff but there is no routine inspection regime.
  2. The pole is not a Council asset, it is an asset of a private individual with permission to erect on the Council’s land. The maintenance and upkeep is on that individual.
  3. As stated above, this is not a Council asset and therefore not our responsibility to clean.
