Request

  1. I understand certain items of historic interest for example plaques on the wall of the now closed Nat West Bank to commemorate men who died in wars after being called up who worked in the bank are being given to DDC to be displayed in the Dover Museum.  Please confirm this is correct.
  2. If this information is wrong could DDC please make urgent enquiries of the Nat West Bank to ensure these valued old items are safeguarded and displayed locally in an appropriate location.  My question is if arrangements not in hand to safeguard these historic items will DDC act to take appropriate action to do so?  Please note the items have been removed from the bank.

Response

  1. Yes, the Council has an agreement with the Nat West that they will deposit the historic material from the bank with the Dover Museum.
  2. Not applicable.
