Request

I have been trying to make contact with  building control regarding the inspection reports on the wooden struts that were put up by DDC to support the unstable boundary wall of the Victoria Park properties which runs down Laureston Place. This wall has been unstable for many years and due to there being various freeholders some of which are unknown no-one has taken responsibility for works to be carried out so the wall remains unstable. The council put in some wooden struts to support the wall and we understand these are inspected every 6 months but the school community are concerned due to the overgrowth around them (which we were told was being maintained but is not) and the recent amount of rainfall that this may have increased its instability. We were informed by a councillor who was assisting us in getting information that building control had confirmed an inspections took place every 6 months and the last one was carried out in January 2024 but the councillor was not able to obtain a copy of the report. We are also concerned at the temporary fencing surrounding the area as this is a high traffic area particulary around school times and would like confirmation of any council meetings which have taken place in relation to this area as it is right by the schools entrance and therefore, we hope, on the council's agenda. I therefore request please a copy of the January 2024 inspection report and to ensure proper checks on any possible deterioration have been done I would also like copies of the last 2 years insepctions as we understand they have been carried out every 6 months.
