I would like to request information on every private hire vehicle and hackney carriage that has been licensed by your council between the 1st of October 2023 and the 30th of June 2024.
Can you please provide the following information ideally in Excel: licence number, vehicle registration number, (VIN if known), make, model, licence start date and end date?

The Council is currently unable to access or extract data from our software system to be able to respond to your request. The latest extract of this information was done on 25 June 2024 in response to a similar request and that information can be found on our website at https://www.dover.gov.uk/Corporate-Information/Freedom-of-Information/Freedom-of-information-Disclosure-Log/Responses/Attachments/FI14914-Hackney-Carriage-and-Private-Hire-Licensing-Data.pdf. The Council only holds details of current licences, so those listed will be current licences as at 25 June 2024. Licences are issued for a period of one year.
Following a review of how the Council deals with requests for this type of information, we no longer provide vehicle registration numbers as this information is considered to be personal data and therefore exempt from disclosure under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act. In making this decision, the Council has taken into consideration a decision notice issued by the Information Commissioner in relation to a request for this information in respect of another local authority.
