Response

The Council moved to a new computer software system earlier this year and we are unable to extract the data in a way that can provide the information you have requested.  We are able to confirm that there are 1299 complaints logged for the past five years but we can only search data from January 2024 and all data prior to this date would need to be checked manually. Since 1 January 2024 there have been 81 cases recorded 28 of which are for damp and mould, 32 general disrepair with the remainder either migrated data or the reason not recorded.

For the reasons stated above, as the data you have requested is not readily available and from our preliminary assessment, we have estimated that the cost of complying with your request would exceed the ‘appropriate limit’.   The appropriate limit has been specified in regulations and for Local Government it is set at £450. This represents the estimated cost of one person spending 2½ working days in determining whether the information is held, locating, retrieving and extracting the data. I regret therefore, that on this occasion I must refuse your request in accordance with Section 12(1) of the Freedom of Information Act.
