I refer to the planning hearings on 7th March 2024 for developments at Betteshanger Country Park Deal Hotel & Spa: Planning application ref: 23/01095 and Surf Lagoon: Planning application ref: 22/01158 Please can you confirm whether any of these councillors on the planning committee had attended a site visit to the park , prior to the planning hearings ? There was no official planning site visit to the park which would have only taken place if the Committee had resolved at the 7 March meeting that one was necessary to enable it to determine the applications. All members of the Planning Committee who attended the meeting on 7 March 2024 either as a member of the committee or as substitute, have confirmed that they have not attended a site visit at the park prior to consideration of the application by the Committee.
