I would like to know if possible when the new part of the nursing home in Whitfield by Gilford Avenue is going to start and when the old one is going to be pulled down and how big is the new one going to be.

Following Cabinet’s decision in January 2024 to sell the land, the owners of the Nursing Home at 107 Sandwich Road Whitfield will buy the land containing the existing Guide/Brownie Hut and have then given themselves three years to come to an agreement with the Guides/Brownies. The present intention is for the new hut to be built in front of the present hut. The present hut will be demolished once the new hut is operational.
The Council holds no information about the extension the nursing home are planning on building. This will be subject to a planning application which will be available on the Council’s website once it has been submitted. The Council holds no information about when any application may be submitted.
