Local Housing Allowance (LHA) rates

The LHA rate used to work out your Housing Benefit will depend on how many people are in your household. If you have a change in your circumstances you must let us know as soon as possible.

Please note: If you are single and under 35 years old and do not have a dependant or non-dependant living with you as part of your household, you will only be entitled to the shared room rate. There are certain exemptions to this that we will pick up as long as you complete your claim form correctly.

LHA rates will increase from 1 April 2024. Most properties within the Dover district have 'Dover rates' but some come under 'Canterbury'. You can find out which area you are in on the Valuation Office website.
