Prospective District Councillors 2027

On 4 May 2023 all 32 district council seats in 17 wards were up for election. The result was 17 Labour councillors, 14 Conservative councillors and 1 Independent (non-aligned) councillor.

The next full Council elections will be held on Thursday 6 May 2027.

Information for those considering standing for Election for Dover District Council in 2027

Councillors are elected by local residents to represent them in making decisions about how the district is governed and how the Council should carry out its various activities. They represent the public interest of the district as a whole as well as that of individuals living within the ward to which they were elected.

A Prospective Councillor event for those interested in standing for election in 2027 will be held in 2026. Further details will be released closer to that date.
