Assistant Curator - Dover Museum and Bronze age Boat

SALARY RANGE £30,081 - £35,121
Dover Museum and Bronze Age Boat Gallery is an award winning
district museum housed in a purpose built museum in the centre of
Dover. This is a full time professional post, initially for a fixed
term of twelve months. The successful applicant will have
comprehensive curatorial responsibilities for the collections and
will maintain the extensive computer database for the collections.
He or she will manage a small visitor services team and a group of
dedicated volunteers.
Further responsibilities include organising temporary
exhibitions, loans and displays, being involved in commercial
activities, public promotion and access, fundraising and other
activities relating to the collection. Experience in collections
management is essential. The successful applicant must have a good
degree, or equivalent, in History, Archaeology or a related subject
or, as well as comprehensive IT skills (word-processing,
spreadsheets and database experience). Own transport is
required.
