What do the Neighbourhood Forums do?
Presentations
The Neighbourhood Forums represent all the residents in the
Dover district and can discuss a wide-range of local and
district wide issues, not just those involving Dover District
Council or Kent County Council.
We will invite guest speakers from various organisations to come
to the meetings to talk and answer questions about specific topics
chosen by you - these can be councillors, council officers, police,
health and others. Past topics include planning, community safety,
active older people, climate change and youth services.
These speakers have been very informative and you can view the
presentations by clicking on the relevant link

Reports and Actions
We want the Neighbourhood Forums to be more than a
talking shop with positive actions and feedback coming from
our meetings. We are compiling a list of these
actions and outcomes, which will be published here shortly.

Neighbourhood Forums.

Battery Recycling:
Battery Compliance Schemes have been approved by govenment and some have
already started collections.
One such organisation is
'Battery Back' and shops
and offices may get a bin supplied for free by calling 0844 800
5671, they will also get collections for free when bins get filled
up. KCC waste management have signed up with another
scheme who currently collect all the waste electricals from the
recycling centres and are in the process of getting
their scheme similar to "Battery back" up and running for
January 2010.
Flooding: Current flooding situation
The Environment Agency provides flood warnings online 24 hours
a day and the information is updated every 15 minutes. Find out
whether there are any
flood warnings in your area. You can also sign up to
Floodline Warning Direct - the free flood warning service from
the Environment Agency.
Dover District Council and Kent County Council
have allocated funds to the Neighbourhood Forums for small
community capital projects. Please see our Funding
Information pages for more details.
